News U Can Use

Here's some of the top news stories from the US and around the world. It's news U can use.

1. The Associated Press reports that nearly two weeks after its creation the website created to help fund George Zimmerman's legal and living expenses has been taken down. During the Zimmerman's bond hearing last week, Shelly Zimmerman (George's wife), said the her husband's brother was the only person to have any involvement with the fundraising website. She also claims that neither she nor her husband are working, and have no source of income. Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara is looking to claim Zimmerman as indigent. To date, Zimmerman has been charged with 2nd degree murder by the state of Florida, and was released on $150K bond this past Monday.

2. This weekend will mark 20 years since Rodney King was beaten to a bloody pulp by the LAPD, which sparked the most intense racial riots in America since the struggle for civil rights. Since his unethical beat down, King has had a rollercoaster life, some of which we were able to witness on VH1's Celebrity Rehab. In those 20 years have we seen real change on the racism front? Does a black man in the country's highest office mean anything?

3. Remember John Edwards? Former Democratic presidential hopeful? Well, he's now spending his time in court trying to defend using campaign money to hide his jumpoff. Where they do that at?

4. Talk about being involved in your kids education. A New Jersey father decided to take matters into his own hands by wiring up his autistic son, after receiving several notes that were to the contrary of his son's character. Watch the video he uploaded to YouTube.

5. The chief of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke gave the U.S. some positive news Wednesday. The economy is showing "some signs of improvement", and expansion should "pick up gradually". This seems like not much, and really it's not. However, it's so much better than where we've been heading...The Great Depression volume 2. What does this mean to you? The housing and job markets are going to be picking back up! So, the cable and cell phone bills get paid on time. Hell, you might even be able to afford that good virgin hair or some J's without having to consider what you're gonna go without.
