Dear SBF

Dear SBF,
I am 17 yrs old. I am a beautiful black yung woman from the 708!
I been talkin to this dude I met at my cuz house a few weeks ago. He wuz there wit my cuz's man but he wuz real quiet & didnt say 2 much. At the party he only said enuf words to me to get my facebook & cell #.
We been talkin everyday but since this weekend and some real funny **** he said I dont think Ima talk to him anytime soon. He told me that he only talks to girls wit there real hair. He said he could never be wit a girl that is rockin a weave or any kind of beauty store yaki. I know he was trying to be funny, but I rock some nice little extensions. I like em & they look good that's all I care about. Before he said all that we were vibin. I haven't really said much since this weekend. Should I even bother telling him how I feel, cuz we might be able to work it out?

ps when my cuz's man intro'd me to him, he called him token. what does that mean?
Help please. He's fine and I'm single.
- yes it's yaki

Dear Yes It's Yaki -
I'm not gonna sugar coat, I'll be straight up and down with you. Why would you compromise or change yourself to be with some dude who is probably just looking for a girl that does not have brown skin? I'm not saying all black girls wear a weave, extension, or some kind of extra hair product found at the local BSupply, but C'Mon! At least 7 times outta 10, you are gonna meet a pretty or ugly or nice or rude black girl with some kinda piece glued/sewn/fused/clipped/braided into/onto her hair.

Cut your losses boo boo! At least you know up front that he wants to act funny. What's even funnier is that there are a lot of girls without brown skin that rock some of the most ratchet looking weaves. Ok, I'm getting off subject.  As for token, have you ever watched South Park? There's a character named Token. He's the only black kid in their class. So, he must be used to hanging out with people who lack color to their skin.

Yaki, don't tell him a damn thing. Chunk up the deuces, and keep it moving. Just be glad that he was upfront with his preference. He saved you a lot of time, money, and energy.
Pat that weave girl!

xo SBF
